Description: In 1936, Gertrude Hawk began making chocolates in the kitchen of her Dunmore, PA home to help support her family. Church groups began raising money by selling her chocolates, and her reputation for creating delicious home-made candy was established.

After World War II, Gertrude's son, Elmer, dedicated himself to the craft of chocolate making, and the business began to grow. In 1962, a newly built factory and retail store on Drinker Street in Dunmore replaced Gertrude's kitchen.

Additions to the factory enabled it to meet the increasing demand until 1988, when a larger, more modern manufacturing facility was built at Keystone Park in Dunmore. Gertrude Hawk Chocolates are still produced in this facility.

A new generation of chocolates lovers continues to be delighted by Gertrude Hawk Chocolates. Our chocolates are now sold in more than sixty retail locations in the tri-state area. Groups across the country continue to use our profitable fund raising programs to raise needed money to achieve their fund raising goals.

Today, we remain dedicated to crafting the most delicious chocolates! We use the freshest ingredients and the same time-tested recipes that Gertrude created in her kitchen so long ago.
